Trainings

MPI Cricket Nets Sessions: We will shortly work out the best time for our club to hold regular sessions there.

KAC Sessions: The net area there is being renovated thanks to the sponsorship of Baggy Blue Jim Doherty and his company (www.dohertygroup.com). More details on this support later, but once the project is ready we will hold some trainings at KAC (fielding drills on the pitch also possible) and some at the Budapest Nets. First is on Friday 18th May.

Hard-earned victory gets 2012 MPI35 season off to a great start!

Sunday 6th May: Baggy Blues International (122-7) beat Budapest Falcons (118 a/o) by 3 wickets
Reg Redfern took 3 wickets for no runs off 4 balls to skittle out last year's champions for a low total, then hit 43 to help his side home. Muhammad also took 3-21. Khaibar Deldar took 4-19 in vain, as BBI recovered from 23-5 to win the season opener (card + report)

Club Day a Great Success!

Thank you to all the Baggies who made the season-opener club day a great success. The historical moment of getting Baggy Blue Caps out on to the playing field was a very special sign of the great development of our club in season 2012.

Congratulations to man-of-the-match Reg Redfern whose quickfire 79 not out made the required run rate of 10 per over (when he came to the crease) an absolute breeze, finishing off the match with an over or two to spare. Baggy Blues 'Kiwis' 145 all out, Baggy Blues 'Aussie' 4/146.

A huge thank you to Dezso of KAC for the fantastic BBQ, and also to the partners and family members that made their way out to join the occasion.

Sponsorship Drive

Ed has won himself a new shirt for securing us the Bronze Sponsorship of Ecocafe (www.ecocafe.hu). You still have the chance to do the same! But I will need to calculate player contributions for caps/shirts/season by April 16, which depends a lot on sponsor income. So aim to secure any deals by April 13 please.

New Bats - Pretty Much All Sold Out!

Congrats to Nick, Jon, Erno, Jim, Reg, Andrew, Baggy Blues International and (to be confirmed) Ralph on their new bats! One bat was also sold to Sidd of the Spartans, but we’ll make sure that doesn’t do too much damage against the Baggies by holding on to our catches this time around.

Baggy Caps and International Shirts Are On Their Way!

The shirts and caps are all safely in Hungary! The shirts are soon to be getting sewn up with the club logo and the caps will shortly be released by customs, who decided to claim about 30-40% tax on their value, including the postage. Yes, another sponsor would be nice...

Welcome to All the New Baggies!

The pre-season campaign to find new players is taking off and the Baggies look set to potentially enter 3 teams in the HCL this year!

For that to be a reality we still need a few more to join in, so get those recruitment posters up at your favourite bar/café/library/gym and do your bit to help the Baggies get stronger and stronger in 2012.

Here is a poster you can download and print: poster
